Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP)

The Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP) is intended for individuals who wish to fly for recreation or as a hobby and represents the quickest and most affordable pathway into aviation.

Holders of an RPP may operate single-engine aircraft with a maximum of four seats under VFR, carrying one passenger. The permit cannot be endorsed with additional ratings.

Students may fly solo from age 14 and must be at least 16 years old to be licensed, while holding a Category 4 medical certificate. Ground school is not mandatory, although it is strongly recommended to support success on the written examination. The minimum flight training requirement for the Recreational Pilot Permit is 25 hours.
